What does The Bridge believe about the Scriptures?
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Holy Spirit to write words of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible is without error.
What does The Bridge believe about God?
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world. The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Trinity and is purposed to point people into a dependent relationship as followers of Jesus. Through our interactive relationship with the Holy Spirit, followers of Jesus are encouraged, challenged, convicted, taught, and changed into the likeness of Jesus.
What does The Bridge believe about all people?
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have an intimate relationship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God in their own effort. Sin created a big barrier between us and God.
What does The Bridge believe about salvation?
We believe that the death and resurrection of Jesus provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his sin. God’s salvation is our answer to the sin problem before us.
What does The Bridge believe about living?
We believe that every Christian should live for Jesus and not for his or herself. By obedience to the Bible and daily giving themselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit, every follower of Jesus will realize their new identity in Jesus. As they realize their new identity, they will see themselves as conduits of God’s amazing grace to a hurt and broken world. We were created to live to increase God’s reputation in this world.
The Bridge has been called to increase God’s reputation of mercy, hope, and dignity through the provision of food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare to those in our community of need.
